True Life: I’m A Terrible Texter

So, last month I wrote a post about how we shouldn’t acknowledge attention deficit as a disorder anymore because pretty much everyone born after 1985 has the attention span of a Vine video (6 seconds). Its A Text, Its A Tweet, Its Our Attention Span Getting Shorter

I don’t think we should acknowledge attention deficit as a disorder anymore. In fact, if your attention span is longer than 10 seconds, YOU’RE the one with the disorder.  I read somewhere that the average person’s attention span has dropped from 12 to 8 seconds since the start of the digital age; that’s one second LESS than a gold fish. And that’s the “average” person. For millennials, I’m pretty sure our attention spans stop promptly at about 5 seconds.                                           …

You don’t find out the real meaning of the term “millennial” until you’ve graduated from college and began looking for your first real job. The dictionary definition is: a person reaching young adulthood around the year 2000; of or belonging to Generation Y, but in the real-world- “millennial” is a euphemism for spoiled; lazy; tech-obsessed brat who expects everything to be handed to him/her.
